Following the launch of the Grand Scénic, Renault has announced pricing for its 5 seat Scénic, claiming it undercuts all of its rivals.
The new Scénic will start at £13,595 for the entry-level 1.6 VVT Extreme - £2,000 cheaper than the model it replaces and rises to £22,295 on the 2.0 dCi diesel automatic in Privilege trim. In between the Extreme and Privilege there are a three trims levels; Expression, Dynamique and Tom Tom Edition. All Scenics get air conditioning, ESP, and keyless go. Options will include a £650 reversing camera.
As with the new Grand Scénic, three new engines and transmissions appear in the Scénic range for the first time, including the 1.4 TCe 130 with 128bhp. This turbocharged petrol engine can average upto 39.8mpg combined with CO2 emissions of 168g/km. A 2.0 VVT 140 CVT and 2.0 dCi 160 FAP are also available. Overall there are eight engines at launch, ranging from 85bhp to 158bhp.
The Renault Scénic is due for release in July.
